The ISO/IEC JTC1 SC17 WG1 expert working group have engaged Steve DeDera (CTI's CTO) as editor for the revised ISO/IEC 10373-1 Peel Strength (Delamination) Test Method. A special Peel Strength Committee has been set up by WG1 (Working Group 1) to revise the Test Method, a crucial test required by major card standards for modern printed cards; MC CQM, VISA, ISO/IEC 18013 (Driver Licences) to name a few. The first meeting will be held on the 27th of June 2016. The current test method allows four different variations of the test to be performed and does not allow results near the card edges to be included, which is where delamination most often occurs first. Steve will be collaborating the committee expert’s methods, results and findings to further standardise the test method to provide greater detail and value to the card industry.
